Blessed

After a much needed two-week holiday with my whole family in Melbourne, I have much to thank the Lord for. The beauty of creation was something that struck me when traveling about places. Also, the very fact that I was able to make the trip when 2 out of 3 surgeons had suggested I would be taking risks delaying my surgery.

On the last night of my holiday, it ended with a bang (literally) as we stayed on for the fireworks display at the Royal Melbourne Show. Wide-eyed, I chose to just stay in the moment and capture the experience with only my eyes, dazzled by the beautiful fireworks that were synchronized to music. A few tears rolled down as I whispered "thank you" to God for allowing me this holiday.

Mom today sang this hymn as she too remembered the wondrous scenery we had seen.. And I would like to share it. It reminds me that God's love is so much more than everything that He has created.

The Love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin

O love of God, how rich and pure
How measureless and strong
It shall forevermore endure
The saints' and angels' song

When years of time shall pass away
And earthly thrones and kingdoms fall
When men, who here refuse to pray
On rocks and hills and mountains call
God's love so sure, shall still endure
All measureless and strong
Redeeming grace to Adam's race
The saints' and angels' song

Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
